MAES members enjoying a study day

The Manchester Ancient Egypt Society welcomes everyone with an interest in ancient Egyptian history.

The oldest and largest Egyptology society in the UK (formed in 1987), we organise an annual programme of lectures from visiting Egyptology professionals, as well as conferences, study days and regular trips to Egyptology collections in the UK and further afield.

We begin our new season of lectures from September and offer a mix of zoom and venue lectures – please check the programme page for details. Zoom lectures are free to members and guests are welcome to join us via Eventbrite – tickets cost £5 per lecture.
